Joseph C. Bunker, CPA will personally supervise your audit and tax preparation. Joe has over thirty years of experience in public accounting, specializing in audits of not-for-profit organizations. He has been engaged as a consultant to not-for-profits in a wide variety of areas, including organizational structure analysis, internal control evaluations and unrelated business income tax considerations. Joe has lectured throughout California as well as Oregon and Washington on not-for-profit financial and accounting issues to a wide variety of audiences, including Boards of Directors, CPAs and financial managers. He has been a guest lecturer in the Masters of Nonprofit Management programs at the University of San Francisco and at Golden Gate University. He has also presented for the California Bar Association and for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Joe has served on the planning committee of the Not-for-Profit Organizations Conference, sponsored by the California Society of CPAs (CalCPA). He is also a member of the CalCPA Accounting Principles and Assurance Services Committee.
Joe is the past-chairperson of the Nonprofit Committee of the San Francisco Chapter of the CalCPA, past-President of the San Francisco Chapter of the CalCPA, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also served on the Report Quality Monitoring Committee of the California State Board of Accountancy.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from San Francisco State University.
Sarah Finegold has been the office manager for 15 years and an auditor for the firm for the past 5 years. Throughout her career, she has honed her skills by working with a diverse range of software platforms for accounting and other analytics, from industry standards to cutting-edge innovations. In addition to her technical prowess, Sarah is a problem-solver at heart. She thrives on tackling complex financial challenges and devising elegant software-based solutions to address them.
Before joining Bunker & Company, She worked for 14 years in the Investment banking industry as an equity trader, then retired from that industry to raise her three children.
Sarah holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a minor in Mathematics from the University of Northern Colorado.
John Simpson, CPA, specializes in audits and tax returns for not-for-profit organizations and has worked in finance and accounting for over twenty-five years. He has experience working with new organizations and guiding them through the process of obtaining their not-for-profit status with the IRS (Form 1023). He is a Registered Tax Preparer in the state of California.
John holds an MBA in Finance from the University of California, Berkeley, a Masters Certificate in Arts Administration from Golden Gate University, and a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Vermont.
